How Does A Pressure Washer Work? Main Operation Of The Pressure Washer: The Motor
The main function of the cold water or hot water
high pressure cleaner is to spray high pressure water through a lance, in order
to carry out an efficient cleaning, with or without detergents.
Composed of an electric motor, the operation of
a Karcher with cold water or hot water applies the same principle whatever the
model: the water brought to the apparatus is compressed by a piston engine, to
be then released in the direction of the lance as soon as it is pressed on the
button. The water supply is essential because any rupture will cause a
cavitation effect (appearance of air bubbles) likely to damage the operation of
the pump of the high-pressure cleaner. This is also the reason why a slight
delay is often noticeable after start of the high-pressure cleaning: the device
ensures its water supply before starting the compression operation.
In addition, in order to avoid any damage, the
high-pressure cleaners are fitted with valves as standard, both to retain the
pressure in the compression chamber and to prevent cavitation.
DETERGENTS AND SAND: HOW DO THEY WORK IN A
CLEANER?
Most of our models of cleaners are equipped with
a detergent tank, and benefit from a large number of accessories for pressure
washer, which allow for example the use of a high-pressure broom, or the sanding
of surfaces .
The animated illustration allows you to look
behind the scenes of Kärcher's K7 Full Control. Thus, you will easily learn
where the engine is located, where the water that is transported by the hose in
the high-pressure cleaner is flowing and how the pressure is raised. Pressure washers at my deal have high quality and durable to use for the
long term.
An example: Karcher K7 Full Control
The electric motor driving the pump system [1]
is the heart of every pressure washer. For flawless operation of the pumps,
water is needed. This is brought, for example, through a garden hose [2] .
Before being pressurized, the water circulates in a double jacket around the
engine and cools it in this way [3] . Silent, this procedure also extends the
running time of the cleaner.
The engine drives a knot disc which raises and
lowers the three pistons [4] . A total pressure washer K7 Full Control
incorporates, in total, three pistons that each work with a suction valve and a
discharge valve. As the pistons descend [6] , the water is drawn by means of a
suction valve [5] into the piston chamber. As soon as the piston starts to
rise, it will push the water through a discharge valve [7] of the piston
chamber in the direction of the injector.
If necessary, in the injector [8] , a detergent
[10] is added. Then, the water passes through the pump [9] before accessing the
high-pressure pistol grip.
In reality, this procedure proceeds so fast that
the trigger can be actuated immediately after turning on the cleaner and
launching, without delay, the cleaning. In the case of the high pressure
cleaner shown here, an LED display of the pistol grip indicates the chosen
pressure level and an example of use. Thus, you will easily find the right
setting for all missions.
A high-pressure cleaner is characterized not
only by excellent cleaning power while saving water. In fact, while the water
flow during traditional cleaning at the garden hose is 3,500 liters per hour,
that of a high-pressure cleaner will be significantly reduced to approx. 400 to
600 liters. Its saving potential is all the greater as the high water pressure
speeds up the work.
How does a pressure washer work?
First, a high-pressure cleaner is a device
walking on the casters, it is connected to a suction tube. The machine is
useful for washing and cleaning by doing a good job, as it is able to clean the
most difficult corners to reach. The pressure washer, is a solution that you
can adopt to ensure a thorough cleanliness.
The different components of the pressure washer
In general, this machine is composed of a piston
pump which is driven by the engine is thermal or electric. The pump works by
turning on itself, and ejects the water in a compact way inside the tank until
it reaches a desired pressure. So when you release water, it is projected
directly at a surprising speed. Thus, by being under pressure on any surface,
the dirt is detached and removed, and this, instantaneously.
How does it work?
This machine operates using an action of two
separate valves which are connected to the pump. In order for them to work, you
must activate the gun to trigger a kind of projection to release it, but also
to stop it, with the help of a button. The two main roles of the two valves are
to project the water under pressure and to stop this projection.
The pressure washer works with two kinds of
motors.
Either it operates using an electric motor,
recommended for individuals or for regular use and a thermal engine that is
instead for professionals because it is used in performing intense tasks. In
addition, you can use your high pressure cleaning by various methods. Indeed,
it can be used with cold water to do more usual work or with hot water which is
in this case the most effective.
A little tip so you can have a better result,
add detergent in case you use hot water. Which will guarantee you efficiency
and spectacular results.
How to use the pressure washer?
The pressure washer can be used in many ways,
depending on the tasks you want to accomplish with it. For professionals, it is
mainly used in the industrial and public sector or in the artisanal or
agricultural sector.
However,
for individuals, it is made to do daily work, such as cleaning vehicles,
terraces, furniture or garden accessories, to clean the floor, or clean the
walls of a pool.
Features of a pressure washer
From a technical point of view, the pressure
washer can consume 400 to 600 liters of water per hour. And this can go up to
3,500 l / h especially for garden hoses. Here are the different characteristics
of the high pressure cleaner that you must take into account.
First, there is the engine that splits into two
characters, either an electric motor or a heat engine. Secondly, there is what
is called the speed of rotation of the pump, which performs about 400
revolutions at 2500 revolutions per minute.
Then there is the pressure that can be estimated
between 80 and 500 bar. And finally, with regard to the flow of water, it is
estimated that it ejects about 400 to 600 liters per hour.
In summary, it should be remembered that the
difference between high pressure cleaners for professionals and individuals are
their designs, their engines, their efficiencies, their performances and
powers. You can always seek advice from your seller if, however, you can not
tell the difference.
